Role:
We are seeking a Senior SAP SD EDI Specialist to support the build, configuration, testing, and cutover of SAP SD EDI integrations for approximately 30+ trading partners. This role is execution-focused, not architect or people-lead oriented. The ideal candidate is a strong hands-on SAP SD EDI practitioner with deep experience in EDI message types 850, 855, 856, and 810, working closely with SPS Commerce, SAP BTP, and SAP SD configuration teams.
The resource will act as the primary owner for SD-side EDI delivery, ensuring accurate inbound and outbound transaction processing using IDocs and/or APIs, including modern onboarding approaches leveraging GPT-assisted or automated vendor onboarding tools for sales order creation.
Responsibilities:
- SAP SD EDI Configuration & Build
- Own end-to-end SAP SD EDI build and testing activities within the SD workstream
- Configure and maintain EDI partner profiles, message control, IDoc types, and SD EDI settings
- Support EDI message types:
- 850 – Sales Order (Inbound)
- 855 – Order Acknowledgment (Outbound)
- 856 – Advanced Ship Notice (Outbound)
- 810 – Invoice (Outbound)
- Carrier based EDI messages such as 214, 219, 220
Integration with SPS Commerce & SAP BTP:
- Work directly with SPS Vendor contact for Order to cash EDI- Mapping specifications, Testing cycles. Trading partner onboarding
- Work directly with Logistics Team for Carrier based EDI: Mapping specs, testing cycles, Trading partner onboarding
- Collaborate with SAP BTP integration team - Map vendor canonical formats to SAP SD transactions via BTP APIs
- Support inbound and outbound flows using APIs and/or IDocs and ensure correct posting into:
- Sales Orders / Deliveries / Billing Documents - Testing & Error Handling
- Testing with shipping in OTC process outbound deliveries with carriers
- Execute unit, integration, and partner testing for each EDI customer. Validate EDI flows based on BTP APIs and IDoc processing
- Coordinate with an offshore tester to ensure follow the sun testing
- Provide status and tracking of EDI progress to team lead.
Assist BTP team with:
- Error handling design, Reprocessing strategies, Monitoring and exception handling, Troubleshoot SD, IDoc, and interface errors independently
Cutover & Go-Live Support:
- Support cutover planning and execution for EDI customers
- Manage parallel testing and dual processing during transition
- Ensure stable go-live and post-cutover validation
Required Skills & Experience:
- SAP & EDI Experience with 8–12+ years of SAP SD experience with strong EDI focus
- Proven hands-on experience with:
- SAP SD EDI configuration, IDoc processing and troubleshooting, Message control and partner profiles
- Solid understanding of SD processes - Order-to-Cash. Delivery, PGI, Billing, Integration & Modern Enablement
Experience integrating SAP SD with:
- SPS Commerce (or similar EDI providers), SAP BTP (CPI / Integration Suite) and Working knowledge of API-based integrations, Canonical data models, Experience using or supporting GPT-based or AI-assisted tools for:
- Vendor onboarding, Sales order creation automation, EDI data validation (preferred), Testing & Execution Mindset
- Strong hands-on testing experience with external vendors, Comfortable working as a doer, not a lead or architect
- Able to independently drive – Configuration/Testing/Issue resolution/Cutover activities and support.

Requirements:
- Overall 8+ years in SAP as SD consultants covering all end to configurations
- Must have worked in SAP SD/OTC module at least in 1 S/4 HANA implementations.
