Strengthening Farmer Participation Through Local Engagement.

Greenated Clima Tech conducted a Local Stakeholder Consultation (LSC) on 22 August 2026 at MYRADA CIDOR (Centre for Institutional Development and Organisational Reform), Kamalapur, Kalaburagi District, Karnataka, as part of the Greenated Small Farmers Agroforestry Project in India.

Organised in association with MYRADA (Mysore Resettlement and Development Agency), the consultation brought together farmers, local stakeholders, and field representatives to facilitate meaningful dialogue on the project and its potential benefits for participating farming communities.

The session provided a platform for farmers to gain a comprehensive understanding of the project, seek clarifications, and engage in discussions around their potential participation. The active participation and keen interest demonstrated by the farmers reinforced the importance of inclusive stakeholder engagement in developing and implementing sustainable, community-oriented climate solutions.

The Greenated team was led by Mr. Sarath Chandra Prasad, Head – Climate Solutions, Greenated Clima Tech, and Mr. Basavaraj Honnappa, Senior Consultant – Climate Solutions, Greenated Clima Tech. The team presented key aspects of the project and interacted with participants, addressing their questions and facilitating discussions. The consultation was conducted in coordination with the coordinators and field staff of MYRADA.

As an integral component of the project development process, stakeholder consultations enable greater transparency, strengthen community participation, and help align project interventions with local priorities and realities. Through continued engagement with farmers and local partners, Greenated aims to foster greater participation and support the adoption of sustainable land-management practices.

The Kalaburagi consultation represents another step in Greenated’s ongoing efforts to advance farmer-centric agroforestry solutions that contribute to sustainable land management, resilient rural livelihoods, and long-term climate action.
