Greenated Launches Biochar Initiative in Tamil Nadu.

Greenated Clima Tech successfully conducted a Local Stakeholder Consultation (LSC) for its Biochar Projects on 30 May 2026 at Amber Hall, near the SIDCO Mega Pharma Cluster in Tindivanam, Villupuram, Tamil Nadu. The consultation marked the beginning of Greenated’s Biochar Climate Initiatives in the state and reinforced the company’s commitment to advancing nature-based climate solutions through stakeholder collaboration.

The meeting brought together farmers, local stakeholders, and community representatives to explore the potential of biochar in addressing climate and agricultural challenges. The consultation focused on the role of biochar in improving soil health, enhancing agricultural productivity, supporting carbon sequestration, and creating sustainable long-term value for farming communities.

The session was led by Mr. Vijayakumar Palanimuthu, Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Biochar Projects, alongside the Greenated Biochar Projects team comprising Mr. Prabhu Krishnamoorthy, General Manager; Ms. Sharmila Prabu, Manager – Accounts; Ms. Sudha Chandran, Scientist – Agroforestry; and Mr. Neelakandan A, Field Assistant. The event was also attended by Mr. Sarath Chandra Prasad, Business Head – Climate Solutions, highlighting Greenated’s integrated approach to developing scalable climate solutions with measurable environmental and community impact.

During the technical session, Mr. Vijayakumar Palanimuthu presented an overview of Greenated’s Biochar Projects, explaining how biochar production and application can contribute to climate change mitigation while improving soil fertility and supporting sustainable agriculture. The presentation also outlined opportunities for farmers and local stakeholders to participate in the initiative through a collaborative implementation model designed to generate long-term environmental and socio-economic benefits.

The consultation encouraged active participation from attendees, with stakeholders engaging in discussions on project implementation, expected outcomes, and opportunities for community involvement. The feedback and insights gathered during the session will play an important role in shaping the successful implementation of Greenated’s Biochar Projects in the region.
